How to sing on stage - if you can really play or sing, you don't
have to worry
How to sing on stage? How to remain calm in front of an audience?
How to show your best infront of a croud? Easy - just believe in
what you are singing. Sing your song as though it is a thing you
want to say right now. If you don't feel like saying it, you'd better
not go on stage.
Singing on stage and recording are quite the same. I've recorded
many hours of live music and I've had my ups and downs. And now
you are reading something I can state infront of a big audience
without even blinking. There is no real trick, just experience and
self confidence. If you practice recording, sooner or later, you
will learn how to sing on stage too.
"Life is a stage" said Shakespeare (I think) and this is quite
right, but what is "a stage"? Easy - it's life again. It's nothing
unusual. When you realize this, you'll improve your on-stage performance.
In fact, as I mentioned, it's not much of a realization, it's persistance
in practice.
I have an example for you - The Cranberies. Their lead singer obviously
had sad love feelings in the early songs. May be that is why she
managed to get on stage and sing out her pain. I read an interview
with her when she was in a new period of her life - she has a happy
marriage. She said that when she listens to her old songs, she felt
embarrased. But here they are - great, sincere music she left for
the next generations of lovers.
This doesn't mean that only lovers in pain for their deserted lover
like this kind of music. It is just quality like the rest of Cranberies'
work. I strongly recommend it. Buy it from amazon.com by clicking
on the right (I'll be gratefull because I'll recieve a % :-)
What I meant was that she just sings sincerely. Then and now. And
that is how to sing on stage - from the heart. Maybe someone will
tell you that you should know notes and he'll be quite right for
himself, but for me notes are not the most important thing.
